Pretty June Wedding
Wednesday
afternoon, at 3 o’Äôclock
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Hauter, near Dollville, occurred the
marriage of their daughter, Miss Bertha
to Edward
Metzger. Miss Julia,
sister of the bride, played the wedding march, and Rev. C. Mueller
performed the ring ceremony. There were no attendants and only
the
immediate relatives and friends of the contracting parties were present. The ceremony was
performed in the bay window of the
south parlor. The bride’Äôs dress was white french lawn [sic] and
she carried a boquet [sic] of white carnations. The rooms were
prettily decorated, the colors being white and green. After the
ceremony an elaborate wedding dinner was
served and at eight o’Äôclock a dance was given at Tilley’Äôs hall in honor
of the bride and groom. Mrs. Metzger
formerly lived near Fisher,
Illinois. She is an accomplished young lady and has won many
friends since her residence in this county. Mr. Metzger is the
eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Metzger and is one of the energetic
young farmers of Rural
township. After November the first, Mr. and Mrs. Metzger will be
at home in their new farm house six miles northeast of Pana.
