ROCKFORD
A wonderful lot of nice rain fell here Sunday. It sure was needed and
will do a lot of good.
Paul
Volkman and family and Ben Volkman and wife spent one afternoon last
week with their father, Pete Volkman of St. Elmo.
Herman
[F.] Bartman and family spent one
day last week with Henry
Gottman and family.
Roscoe Hash, the school teacher, was calling
here Saturday.
Walter
Kull and family and Mrs. Roy Kull and son Floyd called on Roy
Largent and family Friday evening.
Mrs.
Guy Jones and Mrs. [Martha (Vandament)] N. D. [Nelson D.] Jones
were Strasburg callers Tuesday.
Mr.
and Mrs. John Barnes of Windsor called on Mr. and Mrs. Paul Volkman one
evening last week.
Stelma
Volkman spent from Friday until Sunday with her Grandpa Volkman and her
aunt of St. Elmo.
Mrs.
Edwin Stremming has returned home from the Shelby County Memorial
Hospital.
August
Doeding and family were visiting Sunday evening.
Relatives
from Decatur, St. Elmo and near Strasburg were entertained at dinner
Sunday in the home of Paul Volkman and family.
Leeverne
and Ira [A.] Rawdin were Mattoon callers the fore part of last week.
George
Largent and son Roy moved the
threshing machine Monday to begin work in this vicinity.
