ROCKFORD
    H. T. Wade and Shelby Robison assisted George Largent on the saw mill Friday.
    Ben Volkman and Roy Largent worked for J. E. Falk last week.
    Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Bartman and daughter, Grace, were in Herborn Friday.
    This community was shocked at the death of Charles Crockett Friday morning. He had been a resident here.
    Mrs. Ben Volkman, son Paul Louis and daughter, Dorothy, were in Strasburg and Herborn Saturday.
    Mrs. Paul Volkman spent one day last week with Mrs. H. T. Wade and daughter.
    Mrs. Roy Largent and children spent Thursday with her mother.
    John Lenz called on Claude Rawlings Sunday afternoon.
    Wm. [William H. Y.] Ruwe and wife [Mathilda], Mrs. Wilbur Harmon and children spent Sunday at H. F. Bartman’s.
    Roy Largent and family attended the funeral of Charles Crockett in Stewardson Sunday afternoon.
    Ben Volkman and family spent Sunday visiting near Sigel.
    Guy Jones and family spent Sunday with N. D. [Nelson D.] Jones and wife [Martha (Vandament) Jones].
    Alva Patterson and family spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. H. Wiley.
    H. T. Wade entertained company Sunday.
    Mrs. George Largent went to Wheaton, Illinois, Sunday for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Gauger and family.
    Tom Ulmer was visiting Sunday.
    Paul Volkman and family visited Harry Thomas and family Sunday afternoon.
    Adolph Rawdin visited his wife in the Effingham hospital Sunday.
