ROCKFORD
    Ben Volkman and family and Mr. Dan Krile were in Strasburg Wednesday evening.
    Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kearney were charivaried Thursday evening at the home of the groom’s parents, A. B. Kearney and wife.
    Dr. Schroeder was called to see Mrs. Roy Largent Thursday night.
    Charles Shanholtzer and children entertained company from Decatur, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio, Thursday.
    Herman [F.] Bartman and daughter, Mildred [(Bartman) Beck], and Charles Shanholtzer were among Strasburg shoppers Friday.
    Wm. Milligan was through here one day last week.
    Mrs. Louis Krile and daughter of Mattoon were here Friday.
    A nice rain fell here Friday.
    Dan Krile and grandson, Morris Dale Volkman, called on Gilbert Stremming Friday morning.
    Charles Shanholtzer called on Roy Largent and family Saturday morning.
    Ed Haines is spending a few days with his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. [Martha (Vandament) Jones] N. D. [Nelson D.] Jones
    Ben Volkman and son Paul Louis, Roy Largent, A. B. Kearney and son Howard, Gayhart Roellig and Andrew Welton were among the Strasburg shoppers Saturday afternoon.
    Guy Jones is farming his father’s farm.
    Herman [F.] Bartman and wife were in Mattoon Saturday.     Mrs. Maude [M. (Hoy)] Rawdin [Smith] and Mrs. Ruth Volkman and children spent Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Roy Largent who was confined to her bed from Thursday until Monday.
    Dan Krile went to Strasburg Saturday morning after a few days’ stay with his daughter and family.
    Chas. Foelsing and family spent Sunday afternoon with Allen Roellig and family.
    Louis Lenz and family and Paul Louis Volkman attended church at Strasburg Sunday morning.
    August Doeding and family called on Claude Rawlings and family Sunday afternoon.
    Paul Volkman’s entertained relatives Sunday.
    Ben Volkman and family spent Sunday evening at Herman [F.] Bartman’s.
    Wm. [William H. Y.] Ruwe and wife [Mathilda] spent Sunday evening with Charles Shanholtzer and family.
    Mrs. Roy Largent is improving.
