ROCKFORD
    Mrs. Blanche [Ishmael] Gottman and son Ralph and daughter Betty spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Marie [(Smith)] Largent and children.
    Mrs. Maud [M. (Hoy)] Rawdin [Smith] and Claude Smith stole a march on their many friends and were quietly married in Effingham last Tuesday.
    Mrs.Emma Bartman and daughter Grace, Mrs. Mildred [(Bartman)] Beck and daughter Martha Jane and Mrs. Blanche [Ishmael] Gottman and daughters Betty and Aileen, ate dinner with H. T. Wade and family last Thursday. While here they called on other friends, also.
    Ira Rawdin called on Ed Grove Wednesday evening.
    Elmer Webner, wife and son and Mrs. John Coons spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. claude Smith.
    Adolph Rawdin and family and Mrs. Effie [(Houser)] Mummel called on H. T. Wade and family Wednesday evening.
    Mr. and Mrs. Claude Smith called on her daughter, Mrs. Roy Largent and children Wednesday afternoon.
    Charles Shanholtzer was shopping Saturday.
    Wilbur Largent spent Saturday with Tommy Jean Falk.
    Ben Mize, Claude Rawlings and Roy Largent called on the Wiley boys Sunday morning.
    Dan Krile of Strasburg and Louis Krile and family of Mattoon spent Sunday afternoon with Ben Volkman and family.
    Claude Rawlings and family were visiting Sunday afternoon.
    Ebb Wiley and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Laura Wiley and sons.
    Mrs. Claude Rawlings and daughters called on Mrs. Roy Largent and children one evening last week.
    Mr. and Mrs. [Martha (Vandament)] N. D. [Nelson D.] Jones entertained relative Sunday.
    Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Wade and daughter entertained relatives from Stewardson and Ramsey Sunday.
    Roy Largent worked for Elmer Falk last week.
    The game warden has been working in these parts recently.
    Mr. and Mrs. Leevern Rawdin left last week for Kansas, where Mr. Rawdin expects to enjoy better health.
