Mrs. Maude M. Smith, 86, of 3105 Commercial died at 3 p.m. Saturday in
St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kessler-Howe Funeral
Home in Strasburg. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Friends may call
after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born March 18, 1833, in Ford County, the daughter of
John and Eliza Gollogher Hoy. She married John Rawdin who died in 1930. In 1936 she married Claude Smith, who died Feb. 5,
1969.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marie Largent of Springfield;
three sons, Ira and Adolph Rawdin, both of Mattoon, and Lavern Rawdin of
Kokomo, Ind.; one brother, Ray Hoy of Bloomington; and 10 grandchildren 16
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
