Henry Tinsley Wade

    According to the personal diary of his daughter, Dora, Henry Tinsley Wade was born February 4, 1868.  Henry was nicknamed "Tins." He is sometimes referred to as "Tinsley" or "Tinsman."

    On December 6, 1892, he married Laura Belle Shaw in Shelby County. They farmed about 30 acres in Section 7 of Prairie Township in Shelby County.  The property is north of Richland Creek and near Hidden Springs State Forest.

    The Wade family was among the early settlers of Shelby County.  Washburn Wade settled what is now known as Tower Hill.  Washburn's son, Young Lee Wade, was Henry Tinsley Wade's father.  (Young Lee Wade is buried in the Union Cemetery south of Hidden Springs State Forest.)

    He lived 82 years, dying April 23, 1950, in Shelby County where he lived his entire life.
